GCSE French Revision Trip 2008 - Y11

Ten Year 11 students and three teachers left Guernsey on Thursday 20th March to go and visit our Exchange School in Lannion, Brittany.

Despite a long delay at the ferry terminal, all arrived safely at the Youth Hostel by 11pm. Chocolate mousse was waiting to be scoffed when we got there, but Jairus was not impressed as it was slightly burnt!

The group spent all of Friday at the ‘College Yves Coppers’ and the students had the opportunity to practise their GCSE questions with the French pupils. In the evening we all enjoyed a lovely meal at a local pancake restaurant.

Saturday was spent practising role-plays in town - in the rain and hail, but everyone kept their spirits up. The highlight of the evening was a trip to the cinema (out of the rain) to watch a French movie.

The final morning was spent packing and postcard-writing. Despite a rough crossing, everyone arrived back in Guernsey on Sunday evening in one piece, ready for the GCSE speaking exams beginning on Tuesday. The students were a credit to the school and relished the opportunity of practising their French to the natives.
